A trade show magician can give your stand the edge!
You certainly know that it’s not cheap exhibiting at a good event. You’ve put a lot of time, effort and money into your stand and only have a day or two to make it all work. There are no second chances. This is it. You know that your company is great, so the customers will be flocking to talk to you, right?
Think again
Everyone is busy. Your stand is just ‘another stand’. They want some food and to switch off for 5 minutes. Exhibitions are tiring as an exhibitor, but they are exhausting as a visitor. Unless they know they specifically want to talk to you, it’s hard work to get them to take notice. They are not just showing disinterest, they are speeding up their walk and avoiding eye contact at all costs. They fear being ‘sold to’ and don’t want anything to stand between them and their 5 minutes of peace to switch off from the bombardment of the show.
Imagine if you could provide that for them!
As a trade show magician, I see this as my job. To lighten the day for the visitors, put them in a great mood, open up their mind, and then pass them on to you and your team. You wont be talking to people who feel like they are being interrupted from somewhere they would rather be. You will be talking to people who have just seen something incredible and have a big smile on their faces. They will thank you for providing the entertainment and be interested in what you have to say.

There are various ways to use a trade show magician.

There are even magical give-aways. Forget cheap sweets and branded pens. Give your visitors something meaningful, that they were part of creating in a magical way. They wont forget that ‘give-away’ in a hurry, and it wont end up in the bin by the time they reach the exit.
Whatever you do, choose someone with experience
It’s an intimidating environment. Putting trade show magician on your website doesn’t make you an expert. Magic for private events is easy. Everyone there is happy and welcomes the entertainment. At an exhibition, no one is there looking for a magician (often people search me out after their colleagues have told them about me, but even I know that they didn’t come to the exhibition just to see me!) They need to be stopped in their tracks and encouraged into the entertainment. Once they go with it, it’s perfect! But getting them there isn’t for the faint hearted.
So how do you know who to hire?
Bring in a professional! Some people may choose to risk an amateur magician for a private birthday party, but this is business. Only a professional magician, who earns his living performing magic, day in and day out, has the experience to deal with people in this environment. Your trade show magician will stand out from the crowd, and you’ll know when you find him. It may be the manor in which he communicates with you. It may be the tone of his website. Only you will know when you have found someone who is the right fit for you and your company.
