There are various different terms for a magician who entertains people in a stand up social environment. I tend to use Mix and Mingle Magician as this sums up what actually goes on perfectly. Other terms include Strolling Magician, Walkaround Magician, Walkabout magic and occasionally ‘Street Magician‘. They all mean the same thing. Mingling with your guests and wowing them with magic.
Your guests will be stood talking to each other. Maybe with a drink in one hand and a plate of food in the other. This requires a very different approach to the other types of magic. A mix and mingle magician is the closest you can get to simply having an extra guest at your event. It just so happens that this extra guest keeps performing mini miracles that are leaving groups of people astounded!
Your mix and mingle magician will be socialising with your guests, not just performing to them. In this stand up environment, everyone is at the same eye level. Often people have never met a professional magician before, so they have lots of questions they want to ask.
It’s up to you how to incorporate your mix and mingle magician.
Do you want someone to lean more on the side of ‘just another guest’, who happens to be doing incredible things?
Do you want everyone to know that there’s a magician in the room!
It’s all up to you. Make sure that you discuss this with your mix and mingle magician before hand.
