The last few weeks have been crazy.
Last year, I invented a magic effect. It’s a brand new way to completely vanish a deck of cards, leaving just one selected card. I road-tested it at my bookings towards the end of 2025, and even challenged myself to perform it in The Magic Circle Close-Up Magician of the Year competition.
I called the effect DIMINISH.
At the end of February, I released Diminish to the magic community at the biggest magic convention in the world, the Blackpool Magic Convention. I’m thrilled to say it completely sold out.
Not only that, someone recorded a video of me performing the effect, which I posted online. In just a few days it had over one million views. Here’s the clip…
Since then, orders have been coming in from all over the world.
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, I came across a video from one of the most respected magicians in the community, Lloyd Barnes. He put together a video showing a handful of his favourite releases from Blackpool, and my effect took pride of place. He also spoke about me personally, which I wasn’t expecting at all. On top of that, I’ve just signed a deal with the biggest magic dealer on the planet to distribute my effect worldwide. That means my invention now has the backing that will put it into the hands of thousands more magicians.
It’s all been quite surreal!
